My work currently centres on a series of handmade books with a graphic style and abstract narratives. The inner fantasy world they depict is brought to the viewer even before they open a book, through plushies and paper dolls of the characters that inhabit them.

It is important to me that in a gallery setting, the books are treated as sculptural objects. As such, they each stand on their own individual shelves that are made to suit their size. Equally important is that they can also be sold in comic book shops or online, so they are not inaccessible art objects.

I use processes of automatic drawing to expose this inner landscape, and express my thoughts and emotions in a semi-utopian setting. The eclectic range of characters that appear all represent me in some way; these can be of my fragile states, as in Anxious Blob, or in higher and almost god-like versions of myself that act as guides.
